Inhalation

Handling the material in the dry state is regarded as nuisance dust, inhaling in high concentration may cause throat/lungs irritation with symptoms such as coughing and sneezing.
Ingestion

Material being non-toxic, there are no hazards from accidental ingestion, but ingestion a large quantity may cause inconvenience to the digestive system due to abrasiveness.
Silica

Ilmenite sand contain diminutive amount of free quartz, hence precautions should be taken to avoid inhaling the dust.

Eye

Wash eyes with plenty of clean water to flush out dust particles and seek medical attention if irritation continues.
Skin

Wash the material from the skin, repeated contact with the material results in skin irritation, seek medical advice.
Inhale

Blow the nose to remove the particles from the nasal, if any adverse develops seek medical attention immediately.
Instigate

Wash mouth with water if necessary do not swallow the water, seek medical attention immediately if discomfort is felt.

Transportation

The truck should be covered to prevent dispersion of dust when transported as bulk cargo.

Clear up the spillage by sweep or vacuum material for disposal or reuse and to avoid dust generation.

Non-flammable to meting point of 1600oC.
Handling & Storing

Use good housekeeping practices to reduce dust. Incorporate methods of dust control to maintain airborne dust. Use material only for the purpose intended.
Personal Protection

Wear protective apparel such as respirator, hearing protection and safety glasses with side shields for use in the usage environment.

The material is unlikely to cause environmental damage if handled in the approved manner.
